Much Love To You All
Much Love to You All is an ongoing body of work that began in the months after my mother died. It has since become a way of looking at family, memory, photographs, and the people who remain.
The work brings my own recent photographs into conversation with images from my family archive, including photographs of my mother before I was born, and photographs made by my father in which I appear as a child. I return to these images now, sometimes preserving them as objects, sometimes photographing them again at close range.
Across the work, I move between being the child in front of the camera and the person behind it, photographing my own family as time continues.
The title is taken from the closing words of a letter my mother wrote to us.
